TCA Art Shop holding grand opening Sept. 24-26!

Regular hours begin after Labor Day

A weekend of artist demos, giveaways, music and more is in store when the TCA Arts Shop at the Tempe Center for the Arts holds its grand opening Friday, Saturday and Sunday Sept. 24, 25 and 26.

Attend the ribbon cutting at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24. Following will be a reception for all the participating artists, Friends of TCA, volunteers and the general public from 7 to 9, and it’s free and open to the public. Watch artists work during the evening as well as on Saturday from 1 to 9 p.m.; and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. Artists scheduled so far include fiber artist Adriene Buffington, painter Lyn Kenner, mixed media artist Alice Van Overstraeten, art doll maker Mary Poindexter,  metal clay artist Marian Ward, jewelry maker Evelyn Gholson, painter John Priddy, collage artist Tara Beth Jensen, painter Marian Crane, mixed media artist Gloria Nickolis and wearable artist Laurie Fagen.

Operated by the Friends of the Tempe Art Center, the shop will have regular weekly hours as well as being open during special events and functions at TCA. The Art Shop will be open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 1 to 4 p.m. and later during plays, concerts and other private and public functions.

The current “Cars & Guitars” exhibit, both in the Gallery and the TCA Art Shop, runs through Oct. 16.
